Vitla, 29 September 2026: A training program for farmers was organised at the Pingara Horticulture Farmers Producer Company in Vitla under the Paramparagatha Krishi Vikas Yojana (PKVY).
Program was organised with the support of the Karnataka Department of Horticulture, ECOVA organisation and Pingara Horticulture Farmers Producer Company Ltd. Assistant Director of Horticulture Dinesh inaugurated the program. He said efforts would be made to bring small farmers together and form them into groups.
He said the farmers would be encouraged to produce quality organic crops through group-based farming. He also provided information about various government subsidies available to farmers.
Rajaram C.G. Balipaguli, president of Pingara Horticulture Farmers Producer Company, presided over the program. Dr. Harish Shenoy, Assistant Professor at ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Mangaluru, spoke about vermicompost production.
Progressive farmer Udayashankar Bhat Bolanturu shared information on beekeeping. Pingara company director Ramesh N. Noojippady shared his experience in the preparation and marketing of vermicompost.
Pingara company Chief Executive Officer Pradeep S. welcomed the gathering. ECOVA district coordinator Dikesh G. proposed the vote of thanks, while manager Janardhana Padmashali compered the program.
