Bengaluru, 2 October 2026: Women and youth need to come together and actively participate in community organisations to build a stronger society, said Dr Giridhar Kaje, president of the Sri Akhila Havyaka Mahasabha.

He was speaking at the 83rd Annual General Body Meeting of the Sri Akhila Havyaka Mahasabha, held at Havyaka Bhavan in Malleswaram, Bengaluru, on October 2, 2026.

Dr Kaje said community organisations receive natural support from society when they remain active and regularly organise programmes. Greater engagement, he said, also helps organisations reach more people. According to Dr Kaje, the Havyaka Mahasabha has been organising programmes at the regional level and undertaking initiatives intended to benefit the wider society beyond the community.

Havyaka Women’s Forum to Be Strengthened

Dr Kaje said wider social awareness would be possible only when women actively participate in community activities. As part of this effort, the Mahasabha is working to strengthen its women’s organisation. Havyaka Mahila Vedike will be started in 83 regions where a significant Havyaka population is present, he said.

A large Havyaka women’s convention will be organised on December 20, he added.

Youth Forums Planned Across 84 Regions

Organisation also plans to focus on youth mobilisation next year. According to Dr Kaje, Havyaka Yuva Vedike will be launched across 84 regions in India and abroad. He said stronger participation by women and youth would help build a stronger organisation.

Organisation as a Response to Social Issues

Dr Kaje said organised community efforts could help address several social issues, including matrimonial-related concerns. He said stronger organisation would contribute to the overall welfare and well-being of the community.

He also referred to issues affecting traditional settlements, including river diversion projects and environmental damage. A large protest is scheduled for October 10 over these issues, and Dr Kaje called upon members to participate in it.
