Jio has announced a limited-period Anniversary Offer on its JioBharat 4G feature phones, combining a ₹1,499 device with six months of complimentary recharge benefits.
Reliance Jio has announced a special Jio Anniversary Offer on JioBharat 4G phones, aimed at helping existing 2G feature-phone users upgrade to 4G connectivity during the festive season.
Under the offer, eligible JioBharat 4G phones are available for ₹1,499, along with six months of complimentary recharge benefits, according to Jio. Benefits include 14GB of data every month and unlimited HD voice calling, subject to the applicable terms and conditions.
Why Jio Says the Effective Upgrade Cost Is ₹299
Jio says the offer could make the effective cost of upgrading from a 2G phone to a JioBharat 4G phone just ₹299. Company's calculation is based on the cost of basic connectivity for six months. According to Jio, a 2G user spending around ₹199 per month would spend nearly ₹1,200 over six months on connectivity.
With the ₹1,499 JioBharat phone bundled with six months of connectivity benefits, Jio calculates the effective device upgrade cost at ₹299. This ₹299 figure is therefore an effective cost based on Jio's stated comparison, rather than the upfront purchase price of the phone.

Jio's Push Towards 4G Connectivity
