Raghaveshwara Bharati Mahaswamiji to lead ‘Navaratri Namasyā’ at Girinagar from October 11 to 21
Bengaluru, 6 October 2026: A nine-day celebration combining devotion, spiritual practice, Vedic rituals and cultural expression will unfold in Bengaluru this Navaratri as ‘Navaratri Namasyā – Mahadevi’s Mahaaradhane in the Metropolitan City’ is organised under the guidance of Sri Raghaveshwara Bharati Mahaswamiji of Sri Ramachandrapura Math.
Navaratri vrata will be held at the Sri Matha branch in Girinagar, Bengaluru, from October 11 to October 21. Program will bring together vrata, japa, parayana, yajna, charity and spiritual knowledge-sharing as different forms of worship of the Divine Mother.
Nine days of Rajarajeshwari worship
As part of the celebrations, Mahaswamiji will observe a nine-day fast and offer special worship to Sri Rajarajeshwari. A special Lalithopakhyana discourse will be delivered by the seer every day, offering devotees an opportunity to explore the spiritual significance of the Devi tradition. A clay idol of Sri Rajarajeshwari will be installed at the Sri Durga Mantapa, where special Mahapuja will be performed.
One of the major spiritual features of the festival will be the Saptashati Parayana, with 100 recitations scheduled every day, taking the total to 1,000 recitations during the nine-day period.
Nine havans and Shata Chandika Yaga
The celebrations will also feature nine special havans over nine days. On Vijayadashami, the concluding day, a Shata Chandika Mahayaga will be performed. Bhajana teams will present devotional music, while various forms of artistic expression will also become part of the worship.
When food becomes an offering
One of the distinctive features of the celebrations will be ‘Annabrahma Sankirtanam’, inspired by Mahaswamiji’s ‘Annam Brahma’ discourse during Chaturmasya. The concept seeks to encourage devotees to remember the divine while having their meals, presenting food itself as an offering and turning the dining experience into an opportunity for spiritual remembrance.
