Puttur, 4 September 2026: Students of the NCC unit of Vivekananda College of Arts, Commerce and Science (Autonomous), Puttur, have brought laurels to the institution with achievements in the National Cadet Corps and Indian Army selection processes.
Third-year B.Com student Akshatha A. has been selected to participate in the All India Sainik Camp being held in New Delhi. She is the daughter of Mohan A. and Sheshammma M. Meanwhile, college students Tilak H.V., Sandesh, and Ravikiran A. have been selected for the Indian Army after successfully clearing all three stages of the selection process under the Government of India's Agnipath scheme.
Tilak H.V. is a resident of Kodagu Hebbale and the son of Vijay H.S. and Kavitha H. Sandesh, a resident of Kolka, is the son of Taniyappa Gowda and Lakshmi. Ravikiran A., a resident of Kaniyur, is the son of Padmayya Gowda and Ashalatha. Another student, Akshay, has been appointed as an officer in the Indian Army after completing training at the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun.
Students were guided and supported by Bhamy Atul Shenoy, head of the college's NCC unit. The achievements have been welcomed by the college and NCC community as a recognition of the students' discipline, dedication and commitment to serving the nation.
